Job Family Descriptor
Purpose – Broad objective of the role
To identify and implement key strategic improvement initiatives in line with corporate and functional imperatives, strengthen deployment and institution alization of Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM) framework accross TCL work processes and build a robust Business Excellence framework through TBEM with the objective of -ensuring quality in delivery to customer through efficient and effective processes — facilitating ongoing process improvements across businesses and functions through systematic evaluation, analysis and structured tansformational practices including Demand Pull, TOC, Six Sigma, Lean etc – building awareness regarding quality, operational excellence and related best practices accross the organization.

Size and Scope of Role – Total team size BE organization structure has moved to a 3 tiered flat structure (with GMC, Leadership team , and the fungible team layer which will work on various projects and report to the respective Leadership team member).

Minimum qualification & experience
Engineering and MBA, Six Sigma,Black belt and ASQ certification; 15 years of overall experience with at least 5 years of experience in technical and senior managerial roles
Deep understanding of geography-specific aspects related process quality, Facilitation skills, project management skills, Business / data analytics and familiarity with various quality management initiatives / business excellence frameworks.
1. Process Management Engage with senior business leaders and business heads, helping them with identification of high impact improvement opportunities in theiareas, Mobilize resources and launch of identified improvement projects. Performance Metrics – -Target improvement in key process metrics / KRAs as identified
in alignment with BE functional imperatives.
2. Project Management To ensure execution of various project activities through proper planning, stakeholder reviews, project reporting, risk assessment and mitigation and timely closure of all strategic projects assigned. Performance Metrics – -Timely closure of projects # Delivery on agreed project metrics.
3. BE framework and TBEM implementation To enhance BE framework along with BE senior leadership team by incorporating best practices and institutionalization of TBEM requirements across all work processes and functions. Establish working mechanism for going internal / self assessments and corrective actions for TBEM implementation. Facilitate awareness and oreintation of TCL senior leaders and workforce about TBEM requirements and implementation. Performance Metrics – -TBEM external assessment score. -Level of awareness and coverage of employees.
– 4. Process Improvement Drive deployment of process improvement processes / methodologies including 6 sigma, Lean, Demand Pull, TOC, etc, across the organization; Provide guidance to process improvement team in terms of approaches to be used for change initiatives; Monitor management and execution of cross-organization change projects and initiatives by process improvement team; Drive training and development of project leaders across different business verticals to aid and encourage process improvement initiatives. Performance Metrics – # Internal customer feedback # TBEM measures # Improvement Projects and training metrics.
